Acrylic nails vs. “the Dip”

“The dip” nails seem to be a very popular nail service today.

There is little difference between acrylic nails and “the dip.” Acrylic nails are applied with a monomer (liquid) and a polymer (powder) using a nail brush. The dip method is applied by using a brush on resin (glue) and then dipping the nail (and finger) into the polymer (powder).

The “dip” system has been around a long time. Salons have brought it back because it has little to no odor.

As a nail technician I have chosen not to provide the dip service because I personally don’t think it is sanitary to have clients are dipping their fingers in community powders.

Of course as a client you have the choice of what service is best for you!

If you have any questions I would be happy to assist you.
